Getting around using the tunnel

The new tunnel will provide a direct route under downtown from the stadiums to the Space Needle. The south end connects to Alaskan Way and downtown, the north end connects to Seattle Center and South Lake Union.

Step Forward, Feb. 2-3, 2019

WSDOT invites you to experience the new tunnel, say goodbye to the viaduct, and hello to the future waterfront. Activities will take place on Saturday, Feb. 2, and Sunday, Feb. 3, and include a walk through the tunnel, STEM activities, art festival on the viaduct, an 8K fun run/walk, and 12-mile bike ride.

Tolls in the tunnel

The tunnel will be free to use when it first opens. Tolling could begin as soon as summer 2019.
Toll rates will range from $1 to $2.25 with a Good To Go! pass, depending on time of day.
